This project is a 2,580 sq. ft., single story timber framed structure with a basement garage and workshop, and a 390 sq. ft., timber framed hobby structure located in Santa Barbara, CA. For this project, the original house located on the property was demolished to make way for the new design. Site conditions required that the garage of the house be located below the Great Room, utilizing up to 8'-0" retaining walls on three sides, and a reinforced concrete front wall at the door locations. The main house and hobby structure both utilize stick framed roofs with vaulted ceilings and exposed ridge beams and rafters.
