D&Z provided structural design services for multiple steel structures located with the on-site rock materials processing plant. The primary structures designed by D&Z included a steel structure that supports a large rock crusher, as well as the steel structure behind the rock crusher that supports a hopper box that boulders are dumped into to feed down into the rocker crusher below. A third structure was also designed adjacent to the hopper support tower to support an articulated remote-control arm with a rock hammer attached that can be used to clear large boulders that are blocking the hopper chute to the crusher. D&Z provided full structural design, detailing and shop drawing review for these structures, all reviewed and approved by the Army Corp of Engineers.
